PARALLEL PROGRAM / La Chrysalide

In her installation La Chrysalide, Faten Safieddine, the Lebanese-Moroccan videographer and photographer, creates a world of optical illusions that confuses our sensory perceptions with our own projections and enables us to pass through the veils of Knowledge from the world of Light to the Shadows and vice versa. The installation shows a short film, co-directed by Faten Safieddine and the Moroccan director-photographer Othman Zine, which illustrates in a dreamlike style the struggle of women to extricate themselves from the shackles of cultural conditionings and achieve freedom and fullness.
