جماعة was founded in Morocco in response to an invitation to participate in the 4th Marrakech Biennale, 2012. Via جماعة, individuals of different backgrounds research, discuss, translate and disseminate information. Addressing the site-specificity proposed by the Biennale’s curators, جماعة collaboratively produces and distributes posters in public spaces during the Biennale. These posters share insights into the Biennale’s communication between organizers, curators, artists, and journalists with the public of Marrakech. By solely using language, جماعة embraces a local audience and offers an opportunity to critically engage with the Biennale’s mission, proposal and execution.
